How to eat healthy
Tommy was sitting at home and thinking about what to make for dinner in the coming days. He usually makes spaghetti bolognese, eats a steak with potatoes, and has a good sauce on the side.
Tommy didn’t feel he wanted to eat any of it as he often had it for dinner. So, he began to search on Google for new recipes that were easy to make. At first look, nothing seemed interesting to eat.
He sat for a moment to think a bit and started thinking about whether he should eat a bit more healthily. He changed the search to “healthy recipes easy to make”.
He began to find some simple recipes that wouldn’t take too much time to make.
But Tommy likes sauce and would like sauce or dip as a side. As the majority of the recipes were salads, he quickly realized that he had to give up his sauce. He could still make sauce when he makes roasted vegetables, but it defeated the purpose of eating healthy.
Tommy began to watch a video about how to make a healthy sauce or dip that could work for salads and roasted vegetables. The video showed 3 ways you could make a healthy sauce and dip. The first thing was using olive oil which you mix with herbs, garlic, or chili to add some taste to it. Tommy was excited already until he found out that it had to stay for a week to develop the taste. The next one seemed easier as he just needed a blender where the foundation was water, tahini, avocado, or peaches with herbs.
Tommy got up and went straight to the grocery shop, where he bought a bunch of vegetables, herbs, avocado, tahini, olive oil, an oil cane, and a blender. He bought all the food he needed and started immediately to cook when he came home.
Tommy filled up the oil cane with olive oil and added a chili with a few gloves of garlic. He put it into the cupboard to stay for a few days, then he started making his sauce based on avocado.
Tommy was finally done with cooking and could sit down to eat. He didn’t know exactly what to expect and as he took the first bite, he was not exactly sure if he liked it or not as he mixed cold and hot food.
As the day continued, he began to feel it became the same as his spaghetti bolognese and steak. He also realized that he just mixed the same spices and herbs, which gave the same taste. He started to mix it up and then changed the spices and herbs.
It helped Tommy to keep enjoying the meals as it was new tastes even though the food was the same. He learned to make the same meals with the same food in multiple ways.
